iPhone eSIM Installation Guide

Complete step-by-step guide to install and activate your eSIM on iPhone. Works for iPhone XS and newer.

Before You Start

Make sure your iPhone is unlocked (not carrier-locked)
Connect to Wi-Fi — you cannot activate eSIM without internet
Have your QR code ready (in email or as a screenshot on another device)
iOS 16.4 or newer is recommended

Method 1: Install via QR Code (Recommended)

Ayarları Aç → Cellular (or Mobile Data on iOS 16+)

Tap eSIM Ekle (or Add Cellular Plan)

Tap Use QR Code and scan the QR code from your activation email

Tap Devam Et then eSIM Ekle

Label the line (e.g. "Travel")

Choose default line for calls/SMS — keep your home number as default

Set Cellular Data to the new eSIM line

Turn ON Data Roaming for the eSIM line — travel eSIMs require this

Method 2: Manual Install (No QR Code)

Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
Tap Enter Details Manually
Enter the SM-DP+ address and Activation Code from your email
Continue with steps 4-8 from Method 1

Important Settings for Travel

Data Roaming: ON for the eSIM line

Cellular Data: eSIM line (so all data uses your travel eSIM)

Default Voice: Home SIM (keep your phone number on your home SIM)

Allow Cellular Data Switching: OFF (otherwise iPhone may use your home SIM data and roam)

QR code won't scan

Display the QR on another device screen at full brightness, hold 15-20cm away. If still failing, use Method 2 (manual install).

"Cellular Plan Cannot Be Added" error

Your iPhone is carrier-locked or the QR has already been used. Contact support for a fresh QR.

No signal after installation

Check Data Roaming is ON. Toggle Airplane Mode for 10 seconds. If still no signal, see our APN Setup Guide.
