A Three-Gigabyte Suriname eSIM Costs About Twice as Much From Roamify as From Airalo or Esimaccess, With Less Time on It

Suriname has a short card list and no wider regional card sits beside it, so the local list is the entire choice. Within that short list the spread is unusually wide: Roamify runs at roughly double Airalo and Esimaccess at comparable sizes and gives less validity for the money. The country itself is mostly forest, and the government has published dated statements about how far mobile service reaches into it, which is a firmer footing than coverage sections usually get.

The Same Three Gigabytes Costs Twice as Much on One Card

Compare the three-gigabyte cards. Roamify lists three gigabytes for a week at about twice what Airalo charges for three gigabytes over a month, and about twice what Esimaccess charges over a fortnight.

The Same Block, Priced Twice Over

This is not a subtle difference that disappears once you account for validity. The dearest brand gives the shortest validity of the three at that size as well as the highest price, so it loses on both axes at once. The comparison holds at five gigabytes too.

Where Each Brand Sits on Rate

Ranked by cost per gigabyte, Roamify holds the three highest positions in the Surinamese list and Airalo the lowest. At three, five and ten gigabytes an Airalo or Esimaccess card is priced below the Roamify one of the same size, so the brand choice moves the figure more here than the block size does.

Nothing in the Surinamese List Runs Shorter Than a Week

Validity starts at seven days and goes up to thirty. There is no one-day card, no three-day card and no five-day card anywhere in the local list.

A Day Trip Has No Card Sized for It

Anyone crossing the border for a day, or stopping between flights, has to buy at least a week. That is worth knowing before comparing rates, because the rate column assumes you will use what you buy and a short visitor will not. The smallest commitment available is one gigabyte over seven days.

No Wider Card Covers Suriname, So the Local List Is the Whole Choice

On a country page the local cards usually sit beside a regional group that covers the neighbourhood. Here there is no such group at all: the Surinamese cards are the only cards, and the comparison a buyer can make runs strictly between the brands above.

What That Removes From the Decision

There is no continent-wide card to weigh against the local one, and no second purchase to avoid by buying wider. For a trip that combines Suriname with a neighbouring country, this page cannot offer a single card that covers both, and saying so is more useful than implying one exists.

The Government Says Parts of the Interior Are Only Now Being Connected

Suriname is mostly rainforest and the population sits along the coast. Rather than leave a vague warning about remote areas, this section uses two dated government statements that address it directly.

What Was Published in June 2026

A government release dated 8 June 2026 describes an initiative that will result in internet access within the village for Kwamalasamutu, Sipaliwini Savanne, Alalapadu, Kuruni and Amatopo, in the Sipaliwini district, and says those communities have had limited access to modern means of communication. That is the government describing its own territory in mid-2026.

What the April 2026 Statement Set as the Goal

An earlier release, dated 15 April 2026, states the objective that every citizen on Surinamese territory should be reachable by telephone, and acknowledges geographic and technical limitations in some remote areas. Read together, the two say plainly that reach into the interior is a work in progress rather than a solved problem.

Paramaribo, Nieuw Nickerie, Albina and Lelydorp Buy the Same Card

No Surinamese card is written for one district. Buying in Paramaribo and buying in Albina draw on the same set, because every card covers the country and none of them names a place. An Albina eSIM is not a separate product from the one sold in the capital.

The Coastal Strip Is Where the Cards Are Aimed

Paramaribo, Lelydorp just south of it, Nieuw Nickerie in the west and Albina on the eastern border sit along the populated coastal belt, and they all draw on the same cards. What changes further south is network reach, which the government statements above address and which no card here comments on.

The Operator Record Comes From a Number Register, Not a Licence List

The Surinamese regulator does not publish a list of mobile licence holders that could be found. What it does publish is a numbering register, which answers the question indirectly and with an older date on it.

Who Holds Mobile Number Blocks

The regulator numbering register, updated November 2020, records mobile number blocks held by Digicel Suriname N.V. and by Telesur. Its own frequently asked questions page states that alongside Telesur, two new companies were admitted to offer mobile telephony, without a date and without saying whether both are still trading. The register is a numbering document rather than a licence list, so it is the best available answer rather than a definitive one.

The Only 5G Reference Sits on an Operator Price Page

One operator sells a thirty-day consumer package labelled 5G on its own prepaid tariff page. There is no launch date, no coverage statement and no mention of 5G anywhere on the regulator site. Every card in the list above is sold as 4G, so nothing here turns on it, but the label is worth reporting exactly as it appears rather than converted into a claim about the network.
