eSIM Singapore Plans and Prices
A Singapore eSIM connects your phone the moment the plane taxis to the gate at Changi, so there is no SIM counter to queue at and no roaming bill waiting from your home carrier. Your usual number stays active in the phone for calls and texts while the eSIM handles data. The whole island is one plan, and Marina Bay, Orchard Road, Sentosa and Changi carry no separate pricing, so a search for eSIM Sentosa brings up the same list above. Here the handset matters more than the plan, because Singapore has already retired its older network layers. The sections below explain how internet in Singapore behaves on a travel plan, what to check before paying, and how the suppliers compare.
Internet in Singapore With an eSIM
Four mobile operators run networks in Singapore, Singtel, StarHub, M1 and Simba, and no plan on this page publishes which one it attaches to. That pairing can change without notice, so anyone naming a specific operator for a travel plan is going beyond what the plan states. Both 2G and 3G have been switched off under the oversight of the Infocomm Media Development Authority, leaving no legacy layer for an old phone to fall back on. A handset that depends on 3G therefore finds no network at all, eSIM or not, while any phone recent enough to take an eSIM has 4G built in. Switch off data roaming in Singapore on your home SIM before the wheels touch down, since that traffic goes to your own carrier and not to the plan. Cell phone service in Singapore on your regular number continues under your carrier's roaming terms, so ask your carrier whether its roaming calls work over 4G there. We make no promise of 5G on these plans, so treat any 5G symbol that appears as a bonus. The plan ends at the border, so a day trip across the causeway to Johor Bahru needs a plan that also lists Malaysia. Air conditioned malls from Orchard Road to Marina Bay offer wifi in places, yet the walk between them is where mobile data earns its keep.
Buy an eSIM for Singapore
The first check before you buy an eSIM for Singapore is the handset, which must support eSIM, be carrier unlocked and handle 4G. Keying in star hash 06 hash shows the EID alongside the IMEI on any phone that can take a profile. Scan the QR code on a connection you trust at home, since installing on arrival is what tends to go wrong. Validity on most plans runs from the first connection in Singapore, so an overnight flight from Europe or Australia does not eat into a one day plan. When the aircraft reaches the gate, switch the Singapore line on, enable roaming for it, and it should register within a minute or two. Telecom counters in the arrivals hall at Changi sell tourist cards too, but with the eSIM already installed there is nothing to collect. The eSIM card for Singapore is bound to the handset it was installed on and cannot be moved into a borrowed phone. A Singapore SIM card from Singtel, StarHub or M1 is sold with a passport at the counter and is the way to get a local number. A Singapore prepaid SIM card mostly suits a long stay or someone who needs a local number for deliveries and bookings. For a stopover, an eSIM in Singapore is quicker, because the connection is already in place when you walk toward the MRT.
Best eSIM for Singapore
The best eSIM for Singapore depends mostly on the length of the stay, because the city is compact. A long weekend of maps, messaging and a few ride bookings fits comfortably inside a small allowance, and the shortest sizes are built for stopovers. Roamify covers one day to a month, offers a Singapore eSIM unlimited data option, and tops out at 50 GB on capped plans. Airalo runs from a week to six months, carries unlimited plans too, and holds the largest capped size on the page at 100 GB. Esimaccess stretches from a single day to three months without an unlimited option, with capped sizes up to 20 GB. Telcovision starts at a month and runs to three months, reaching 50 GB, so it is built for a longer posting rather than a layover. No supplier here reaches a full year, and Airalo alone passes the three month mark. For a fortnight of work from the city, weigh an unlimited plan and its fair use threshold against a large capped one. A Singapore travel eSIM for a layover between flights can be as small as one day, which both Roamify and Esimaccess offer. If you misjudge, an e-SIM for Singapore can be topped up with a second plan from this page.
